One House Per Year Annual Timing
Annual profections are a Hellenistic timing technique that advances the chart one house (sign) per year of life. At birth (age 0), the 1st house is activated; age 1 activates the 2nd; age 12 returns to the 1st; age 24 again to the 1st; and so on in 12-year cycles. The activated house's ruler becomes the Year Lord the planet governing the major themes of that year of life. Any natal planets in the activated house also become highlighted for that year.

Using Annual Profections
Find your current profection house by taking your age, dividing by 12, and using the remainder to count houses from the 1st. At age 35: 35 mod 12 = 11, so the 12th house is activated (1st = 0, count 11 houses). The Year Lord is the ruler of the profected Ascendant sign. Then track all transits and progressions to the Year Lord they time specific events within the year. Profections are extraordinarily simple yet proven remarkably accurate in lived experience, making them one of the most recommended techniques for beginning predictive work.
