What Graha Means in Your Chart
Graha (ग्रह) means "that which seizes" — planets that grip and shape your destiny. In Jyotish, a Graha is not a passive rock in space but an active cosmic intelligence. Each Graha rules specific domains of life, certain signs, and houses. Its placement in your chart shows where that energy is concentrated. The Graha's strength (Bala) determines how powerfully it delivers its results.

Reading Grahas in Practice
For each Graha in your chart, check three things: sign placement (Rashi), house placement (Bhava), and aspects (Drishti). A Graha in its own sign or exaltation delivers results fully. A debilitated Graha struggles but can be rescued by Neecha Bhanga. Always examine the Graha's dispositor — the planet ruling the sign it sits in — to trace the full chain of influence.
