What Yoga Means in Your Chart
In Jyotish, Yoga (योग) means "combination" — a specific planetary configuration that produces a defined result, positive or negative. Hundreds of Yogas exist in classical texts. A Yoga in your chart is a promise, but it delivers results only during the relevant Dasha period. A weak Yoga — planets debilitated or in poor houses — may barely manifest. Strength of planets and timing are everything.

How to Spot Yogas
First, identify your Lagna. Then check which planets own Kendra (1,4,7,10) and Trikona (1,5,9) houses — their conjunction or mutual aspect creates Raja Yoga. Next look at the 2nd and 11th house lords for Dhana Yoga. Finally, check the five Mahapurusha Yogas: Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, or Saturn in own sign or exaltation in a Kendra. Even one strong Yoga elevates a chart significantly.
